FileDonkey is a one-person operation. Taking money properly means a payment provider, invoices, and tax handled correctly in every country a buyer might be sitting in. None of that is worth doing quickly, so preorders stay shut until it is done rather than opening on something half-finished.
That you got this far counts for more than it might seem. A free download tells us the software works. Someone reaching for their wallet before there is anything to buy tells us it is worth finishing.
