Terms of Service
Effective 22 October 2026  ·  Version 1.0
These Terms apply when you buy a FileDonkey license from the website at filedonkey.app (the "Site"), including a preorder of FileDonkey v1.0. FileDonkey is made by Ihor Horemykin, an individual trading as FileDonkey ("FileDonkey", "we", "us"). By completing a purchase you agree to these Terms, to our Refund Policy and to the buyer terms of our reseller, Paddle, described in section 2.

The short version. You pay once, through our reseller Paddle, and there is no subscription. When v1.0 ships, your license goes to the email address you gave at checkout. You can have a full refund within 14 days of your order, for any reason; the Refund Policy has the details. The free beta stays free whether or not you buy.

1. Who we are
  • Ihor Horemykin, a private individual, trading as FileDonkey. FileDonkey is a trade name, not a registered business or separate legal entity.
  • Email: [email protected]
2. Our reseller, Paddle

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller, Paddle.com Market Limited ("Paddle"). Paddle is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. It is Paddle that sells the license to you, takes your payment, issues your invoice or receipt, collects any sales tax or VAT due where you live, and handles billing enquiries and refunds.

Your purchase from Paddle is governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms, which are shown to you at checkout. These Terms govern the rest: what the license lets you do with FileDonkey, and what we, as the maker of the software, undertake to you.

3. What you are buying 3.1 The preorder

A preorder is the purchase, ahead of its release, of a license for FileDonkey v1.0. The price is shown on the preorder page and confirmed at checkout, in your local currency where Paddle offers it, together with any tax that applies. It is a single payment. You will not be charged anything further for v1.0.

3.2 Delivery

When v1.0 is released, we will send your license and download instructions to the email address you gave at checkout. If that address changes before then, write to [email protected] from the old address or with your order number, and we will update it.

We do not commit to a release date. Until v1.0 ships, the beta remains free to download and use. A preorder does not change what the beta does and does not unlock anything in it.

4. Your license

FileDonkey is licensed, not sold. Once v1.0 is delivered, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use it on devices you own or control, for personal, non-commercial purposes. Use within a business, for client work or to generate revenue requires a commercial license, which is arranged separately.

You may not resell, rent, sublicense or share your license, or remove copyright notices from the software. Nothing in these Terms restricts anything that applicable law expressly permits you to do with software you have lawfully acquired.

5. The beta

Beta releases are provided free of charge and as they are. They may contain faults, and we recommend that you keep backups of anything you work on with them. Buying a preorder does not change this.

6. Warranties and liability

If you are a consumer, you have legal rights in relation to digital content that is faulty or not as described, and nothing in these Terms affects them. Subject to those rights, and to the extent the law allows, FileDonkey is provided without further warranties of any kind.

To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you in connection with a purchase is limited to the amount you paid for it. We do not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be excluded or limited by law.

7. Refunds

Refunds are described in our Refund Policy and are paid by Paddle to the original payment method.

8. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The version and effective date at the head of this page will change when we do. The Terms in force when you placed your order continue to apply to that order.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the law of Ukraine. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory provisions of the law of the country where you live.

10. Contact

Questions about these Terms or about an order may be sent to [email protected]. For questions about a payment or a receipt you can also contact Paddle through paddle.net.
